KLEINFELDER
Composite samples were collected from the soil piles to assess disposition
alternatives for the excavated soil. Nine samples from the possibly
r
contaminated soil pile were collected from the PID survey locations and
combined by the analytical laboratory to form two composite Samples, a
northern and southern sample. Three samples from the PID survey locations
{ of the clean soil pile were collected and combined by the laboratory into
a single composite sample.
The confirmation samples from the excavation and samples to be composited
' rfrom the soil ,
piles were delivered under chain-of-custody to Chemwest
Analytical Laboratories, Inc. in Sacramento and analyzed for total
Petroleum hydrocarbons, extractable b GC-FID
Y and volatile aromatic
compounds (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX}) by EPA Method
' 8020 on a 24-hour rush turnaround.
