Prior to sampling,
groundwater elevation measurements were obtained using an electric water-level
meter. Results are presented in the table below.
Table 2 - Well Data
Cheaper! store #37, 15 East Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
March 15, 1995
Well # Well Top Elevation Depth to GW GW Elevation*
MW-1 100.20 5.47 94.73
MW-2 100.20 565 94.55
MW-3 101.40 6.81 94.59
MW-4 9920 452 9468
An arbitrary elevation of 100 0' was established on the site All elevations given in feet.
Groundwater elevation was about 0.6 feet higher than in December, 1994, and 1.2
feet higher than to September, 1994. The groundwater gradient was about 25° east of
south, with a gradient of 0.0017 (1.7 feet per 1,000 feet), as shown in Figure 2.
In the spring, summer, and fall, groundwater flow is usually to the northeast at thus
site, but shifts to the southeast when water levels rise far enough This is possibly
attributable to infiltration in Pescadero Park, just northwest of the site. According to
Mr. Dan Busch, Tracy Park Superintendent, Fl Pescadero Park was not designed for
stormwater infiltration, but it floods in winter, rendering its sports fields unusable.
Each monitoring well was purged using an electric submersible pump prior to
sampling At least 12 gallons were removed from each well, more than three well
volumes per well. Water levels after purging have shown no significant change
prior to sampling at this site. All purge water was placed in a sealed metal drum.
Before the next well was purged and sampled, the pump was run in one bucket with
TSP (tnsolum phosphate) and two separate buckets with tap water. All purge water
and equipment wash water was placed in DOT 17H 55-gallon steel drums and
remains on-site The water and drums will be disposed on your authorization with
. documentation forwarded upon completion
Parker Environmental Services, 190 East 7th Street, Pittsburg, CA 94565-2317
Phone (510) 439-1024 Fax (510) 439-2566
