ANALYTICAL RESULTS
Laboratory analytical results from our June 24 and 25, 1991 soil
sampling program and from our July 17, 1991 groundwater sampling
program are given in the following sections. All soil and
groundwater samples were analyzed at Chromalab, Inc., of San Ramon,
California (State-certification #238 and #655, Federal ID #68-
0140157) Copies of the laboratory reports are included in Appendix
B.
Analytical Results - Soils
Each soil sample was analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHg) (EPA Method 5030/8015) , Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) (EPA Method 3550/8015), Benzene,
Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Total Xylenes (BTEX) (EPA Method 8020) ,
Total Oil and Grease (EPA Method 5520 E&F), Purgeable Halocarbons
(EPA Method 8010), and Cadmium (EPA Method 7130) , Chromium (EPA
Method 7190), Lead (EPA Method 7420), Nickel (EPA Method 7590) , and
Zinc (EPA Method 7950) .
Analytical results from the June 24 and 25, 1991 soil sampling
program are shown in Table 1 rTPHg & BTEX), Table 2 (TPHd & O&G),
and Table 3 (Cd, Cr, Pb, Ni, Zn) . The detection limit for each of
these parameters is also included in the tables. Since there were
no Purgeable Halocarbons detected in the soil samples, a table
showing these parameters has not been included.
Two soil samples were collected from soil boring MW-1,• one from a
depth of 5 feet (MW1-51 ) and one from a depth of 9 feet (MW1-9`) .
Soil sample 14W1-5' did not contain detectable concentrations of
TPHg, TPHd, BTEX, Oil and Grease, or Purgeable Halocarbons.
Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Nickel, and Zinc were present at
concentrations below their respective Total Threshold Limit
Concentrations (TTLCs) and below ten times their respective Soluble
Threshold Concentration Limits (STLCs)5. Chromium was detected at
a concentration of 4.07 parts per million (ppm), Lead at a
concentration of 8.83 ppm, Nickel at a concentration of 4.63 ppm,
and Zinc at a concentration of 8.73 ppm. Cadmium was not detected.
Soil s.ample`'MW1-9' contained. concentrations of :TPHg and. TPHd Of
1100 ppm and 360 "ppm, respectively. Benzene :was detected at a
concentration: of 180 ':parts`.'per, billion (ppb), Toluene at a
concentration of`. 170 ppb, .Ethylbenzene at aconcentration of 450
"ppb,.:..and. Xylenes at .a. concentration of 9000 ppb:::. Oil and Grease
and Purgeable Halocarbons were not detected in sample MW1-91 .
Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Nickel, and Zinc were present at levels
below their respective TTLCs and below ten times their respective
STLCs. Cadmium was detected at a concentration of 0.225 ppm,
Chromium at a concentration of 3.34 ppm, Lead at a concentration of
8.35 ppm, Nickel at a concentration of 3.95 ppm, and Zinc at a
concentration of 7.04 ppm.
,'_ 275 GRANT LINE ROAD - _ _ __ PAGE 13 - -
