Box 2009 (E.Hazelton Ave.) <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> (209) 468 3420 <br /> Dear Mr. Schneider: <br /> Re: Work Plan for Monitor well and Soil Boring Installations <br /> 275 Grantline Road (Steve's Bait Shop) Tracy, California <br /> INTRODUCTION: <br /> Enclosed is the proposed work plan to install two, 2--inch O.D. <br /> diameter, one 4-inch O.D.diameter groundwater monitoring wells and <br /> four soil borings in appropriate locations on the site. This work <br /> plan is an integral part of THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRUCTION <br /> COMPANY's proposal to perform a Phase II Soil and Groundwater <br /> Contamination Assessment an the property described above. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION: <br /> The site is a retail video sales and rental store located in the <br /> east-central portion of Trach, California. Adjacent properties <br /> include a retail gasoline station, restaurants, and apartment <br /> complexes. The Property is owned by the Pestana Trust. The <br /> property is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of <br /> Entrada Way and Grantline Road. The property is paved with <br /> asphalt, except in tate immediate area of the pump island which is <br /> 1 paved with concrete. The property was previously used as a retail <br /> gasoline service station. An inactive product dispensing area <br /> (pump island) is located on the southeastern portion of the <br /> property. <br /> Topography and General, Geology <br /> The topography of the immediate area is flat and lies <br /> approximately 30 feet above mean sea level. Figure 1 is a regional <br /> site map of the immediate area. The Union Island U.S.Geological <br /> Survey, 7.5 Minute Topographic Quadrangle map with a scale of <br /> 1:2000 was used for this figure. The general area is underlain by <br /> Holocene alluvium river, lake, playa and terrace deposits -- mostly <br /> unconsolidated to semi-consolidated non-marine sediments. The site <br /> itself is underlain by a grayish-brown to medium-brown, stiff clay <br /> to a depth of 1 foot below surface grade; below this is a grayish-- <br /> brown, stiff clay to a depth of 2 feet. Underneath this strata <br /> lies approximately 4 feet of light to medium dark, tannish-brown, <br /> damp, slightly plastic clay; below this layer lies at least 4 feet <br /> of moist to very moist grayish-tan to tannish-brown, very fine- <br /> . � <br /> H:\APPS\WP51\TOM\WRKPLNW\WRRPL275 PAGE 1 OF 5 <br /> ,I <br />
