The - purpose of this work was to remove and dispose of all hydrocarbon- contaminated soils and/or groundwater near the former underground storage tank. (UST) on the site: The scope of work included 1. ) the removal and disposa,l :of hydrocarbon-contaminated soils. and.. any remaining product lines; 2. ) the collection of soil samples from . the vadose zone (the 'zone of saturated soils directly above the water table) around.the perimeter of the tanks former location; 3. ) the .collection of any groundwater encointered; 4. ) Providing for analytical laboratory .results of the sampling; 5. ) This. report of findings, conclusions, and ,recommendations. LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF SITE The site is a retail video sales and rental store located in a commercialized an-1 residential area in the east-central portion of the town of Tracy, California. The property is 'located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Entrada Way and Grantline Road. The site is, paved witri asphalt, except where the pump island is located, which is covered with concrete. The site was a retail gasoline service station that has been converted to a video sales and rental store_. The closest body of surface water, the: San Joaquin River, is located approximately 3 miles to the east. The site is underlain by a grayish-brown to medium brown, stiff, clay to a depth of about 1 .foot; below this is a grayish- brown, stiff; clay to a depth of approximately pproximately 2 feet belovi grade;
