VALT
GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS, INC.
2291 W. March Lane, Suite 127D
Stockton, California 95207
Telephone: (209) 952-3481
Facsimile: (209) 952-9892
July 18, 1996
Mr. Michael Infurna
San Joaquin County PHS/EHD
P.O. Box 0388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Subject: Second Quarter 1996 Monitoring and Sampling Report
Former Steve's Rentals, 275 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Infurna:
This letter report presents the results of the Second Quarter 1996 groundwater monitoring and
sampling at the subject site (Figure 1).
Groundwater monitoring was conducted on June 28,1996 on wells MW1, MW2, MW3. The
groundwater elevations across the site increased an average of 0.12 feet since the last monitoring
event in June 1995 (Table 1). Figure 2 depicts the groundwater flow direction and hydraulic
gradient on June 28, 1996. Flow direction at the site was generally to the northeast at a gradient
of approximately 0.003 ft/ft. Monitoring data are included in Attachment A.
On June 28, 1996 after purging at least three casing volumes of groundwater and the
stabilization of temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity, samples were collected from each
well in accordance with the site Well Sampling Protocol. Samples were analyzed by Argon
Laboratories (FLAP#1873)of Ceres, California for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes
(BTEX) using EPA method 8020 and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) using
modified EPA method 8015.
TPHg and BTEX were not present above laboratory method detection limits in samples collected
from wells MWl, MW2, and MW3, which is consistent with historical results. Laboratory
analytical data are summarized in Table 2. Laboratory data sheets and chain of custody
documentation are included in Attachment B.
*ft.,r
g round zeXpest&=.03 512gm 1996
