{ !aq • 2
r
Michael Infurna of the Environmental Health Division of the
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department
(PHS/EHD) .
Depth to water and total well depth in each of the wells
were measured using an electric tape and the volume of
water within each well casing was computed. Each well was
then purged with a BK Hand Pump until the groundwater was
free of significant sand, silt , and/or other grit , and
temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity readings
stabilized. In this case, over three well volumes of water
were removed from each well . Measurements acquired
attendant to sampling appear on the well monitoring forms
enclosed in Appendix A.
Subsequent to the purging of each well , a groundwater
sample was collected from the discharge line of the and
pump (a length of clean polyethylene tubing) . Each sample
was transferred into one-liter amber glass sample bottles
and two Volatile Organic Analysis (VOA) vials . Each sample
container was promptly fitted with a teflon-lined screw
cap, labeled, placed on ice, and transported under chain of
custody to Priority Environmental Labs of Milpitas , a
Californias-state certified hazardous waste analytical
laboratory. Analyses were subsequently performed on all
samples for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPH-D)
using EPA Methods 3510/8015, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
as Gasoline (TPH-G) , and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene,
and total xylenes (BTEX) using EPA Methods 5030/8015-8020
( 602) . The samples acquired from wells MW-1 and MW-2 were
also analyzed for Oil and Grease (TOG) using SM 5520 C&F.
Copies of the results of certified analyses as received
from the certified are enclosed within Appendix A. These
results are summarized and compared with previous sampling
results in the following table:
Table 1
Analytical Results of Groundwater Samples Acquired
from Monitoring Wells MW-1 , MW-2 , and MW-3 at
275 Grant Line Road, Tracy, CA
Sample Date
& Depth to TPH-D TPH-G B T E X TOG
Water ( ft) (ppb) (ppb) (ppb) (ppm)
------------------------------------------------------------
MW-1
02/05/93 N.D.
