General housekeeping activities previously requested by Ms .
Meays were performed during March, 1994 . The activities
involved the emptying and removal of drums containing well
purge water , the introduction of the purge water into a
storage tank located on other Pest&.na Trust property
located across Grant Line Road at 2350 East Street , Tracy
for biologicai degradation, the emptying of drums
containing drill cuttings onto the on-site soil storage
pile , and the removal of general refuse dumped at the site
by unknown parties .
COMPLIANCE MONITORING OF THE ON-SITE WELLS
Sampling of the three on-site , 2-inch inside-diameter
groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 , MW-2 , and MW--3 ) was
performed on September 30 , 1994 with the approval of Mr .
Michael Infurna of San Joaquin County PHS/EHD.
Depth to water and total well depth in each of the wells
were measured using an electric tape and the volume of
water within each well casing was computed. Each well was
then purged using a clean , disposable, polyethylene bailer
until the groundwater was free of significant sand, silt ,
and/or other grit , and temperature , pH , and electrical
conductivity readings stabilized . In this case, over three
. well volumes of water were removed from each well .
Measurements acquired attendant to sampling appear on the
well monitoring forms enclosed in Appendix A.
Subsequent to the purging of each well , a groundwater
sample was collected in a clean, disposable polyethylene
bailer . Each sample was transferred into a one-liter amber
glass sample bottles and two Volatile Organic Analysis
(VOA) vials . Each sample container was promptly fitted
with a teflon-lined screw cap , labeled, placed. on ice , and
transported under chain of custody to Priority Environ-
mental Lams of Milpitas , a California-state certified
hazardous waste analytical laboratory . Analyses were
subsequently performed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as
Diesel (TPH-D) using EPA Methods 3510/8015 , and Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPH-G) , benzene ,
toluene , ethylbenzene , and total xylenes (STEX) using EPA
Methods 5030/8015-8020 ( 602 ) . The sample acquired from
well MW-1 was also analyzed for Total Chromium using EPA
Method 7190 .
Copies of the results of certified analyses as received
from the certified are enclosed within Appendix A.
These results are summarized and compared with previous
sampling results in the followng table :
Page 7
