Quarterly Summary ary Report JUL 2 6 1993 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH The Pestana Trust Property PERMIT/SERVICES 275 Grant Line Road, Tracy , CA SJCo PHS/EHD Site #2435 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION The subject site is located in an area of mixed commercial , residential , and light-industrial usage in the northeastern portion of the City of Tracy (San Joaquin County) , CA. It is a rectangular parcel consisting of approximately 17 ,070 square feet . The site is paved in asphalt and contains one, single-story building that originally housed the office and service bays for a retail fuel service station. In recent years , the building has been uaed by a variety of small , repair and rental businesses . The site is presently vacant and unused. SITE GEOLOGY AND GEOHYDROLOGY • The Water Works Corp . reported in a September , 1991 document prepared for property also located at East Street and Grant Line Road that the subject intersection is located on (essentially) level terrain underlain by Pleistocene and Holocene age flood plain deposits composed of sediments similar to, and probably conformable to underlying deposits of alluvium and the Tulare formation. The flood plain deposits are light to dark-brown and grey clay, silty sand, and organic materials with locally high concentrations of salt and alkali . Stream channel deposits of sand and gravel are also present . I Groundwater is less than ten feet below grade throughout most of the Tracy area . Groundwater flow is generally to the north. The flood plain deposits of the shallow water bearing zone have well developed soil profiles and poor permeability. The base of this zone is poorly defined and probably is from five to twenty feet below ground surface. I OVERVIEW OF PAST ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE ACTIVITIES PERFORMED AT THE SITE I In their March, 1993 Report of Findings , Applied Environmental Solutions , Inc . (AES) of San Jose, CA indicated that detectable concentrations of Total Petroleum Page 2
