h KLEIN FELDER
6 SUMMARY
' Analytical results of the soil samples collected from the subject site indicated petroleum
hydrocarbon contamination was present only an a soil sample from the 4 to 4 5 foot interval
' at MW-3 Contaminants were not found in any of the other soil bonngs Of the three
monitoring wells sampled, petroleum related contamination was only found in MW-3 at
' low concentrations EDB exceeded state action levels Coliform bacteria were detected an
all three wells
' The presence of EDB at concentrations above state action levels is cause for concern
Another round of ground water sampling should be conducted to confirm this finding
' before any other action is contemplated High concentrations of TPH were also found in
the soil around MW-3 Further assessment of the soil contanunation near MW-3 is
' recommended.
Coliform bacteria were detected in all three monitoring wells, the highest concentrations in
the upgradient well. In view of the fact that the gas station has not operated for a number
' of years and that the site is surrounded by sewer lines not owned or operated by the site
owner, responsibility for this bacterial contamination should not be assigned to the owner.
145-88-2013 10
