Soil Sampling During Station Demolition,Tosco(Fourier Unocal) SS#6981, Stockton, CA <br /> August 29, 2000 <br /> • All composited stockpile pea gravel and sod samples were analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, and MtBE by DHS <br /> LUFT Methodology and total lead by EPA Method 6010A <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> TPHg was detected in two compliance soil samples, with a maximum concentration of 38 3 parts per <br /> million(ppm) in sample PL8-4' TPHg was not detected in any other analyzed samples Benzene was not <br /> detected in any analyzed compliance soil samples MtBE was detected in one soil sample (TP1-17') at <br /> 0 0726 ppm by DHS LUFT Methodology, but was not detected by EPA Method 8260 Based on these <br /> results,additional soil excavation at this site is not warranted <br /> Waste Disposal <br /> On May 2 and 3, 2000, Denbeste Trucking (Denbeste) of Windsor, CA transported the pea gravel and sod <br /> sampled on April 27,2000 to Allied Waste's Forward Landfill in Manteca,CA for disposal Allied Waste's <br /> approval letter is attached(Appendix D) Analytical results are shown in Table 1 <br /> The soil generated during the May 3, 2000 over-excavation activities was stockpiled onsite awaiting <br /> transport to Allied Waste's Forward Landfill in Manteca, CA The soil was approved by Allied Waste for <br /> acceptance under the same profile issued for the previously accepted pea gravel and soil stockpiles <br /> SUMMARY <br /> • • Remedial activities included the removal of approximately 850 yd3 of impacted soil and pea gravel <br /> • Low concentrations of TPHg were detected in only two confirmation soil samples <br /> • Benzene,MtBE and the other fuel oxygenates were not detected in any of the soil samples analyzed <br /> a The source area has been removed through overexcavation <br /> 140124 07 4 <br />
