The property was never <br /> owned by Union, but instead was leased by Union from Dayton Hudson Crrlporatinn- As a result of the sale, <br /> Tosco took over Union's leasehold on this station, and is now the owner of the tanks on the premises, and <br /> operates them through either dealers or sablossees. As part of the agreement,Tosco has taken over all remedial <br /> responsbilitics on sites that it acquired, including this one. Neither Union nor Unocal has any right-of-acccoss to <br /> this property except as may be affordod by Tosco to the general public. Tosco i9 also now the permittee for the <br /> tanks located at the aitc. <br /> Based on this set of facts and my discussions with Tosco representatives, it is our understanding that <br /> Tosco los assumed responsibility for any necessary re odiation at this site. Accordingly, any disputes <br /> concerning what investigation or remediation is neeessary at the site should be addressed with representatives of <br /> Tosco. <br />
