MARCH-PACIFIC INTERSEgTIFN IMPROVEMENTS P.O. Box 773, Stockton, A 9528 11: 22 (209) 464-4350 April 3, 1997 Mary Meays SJCo Environmental Health 304 E.Weber Ave. Stockton, CA 95202 Last year,the City of Stockton held two public meetings to discuss the background,plans, benefits,and expectations for major improvements of the March Lane-Pacific Avenue Intersection. Information given to the engineering design team by members of the public was very helpful in planning the improvements. Now,construction will begin. About mid-April, you will begin to see heavy construction equipment in the intersection. Work will generally take place between the hours of 8:o0 AM and 4:00 PM, and the construction team plans to minimize disruption during construction. Access to your homes and businesses near the intersection will be maintained throughout the project,but there may be some delays and inconvenience. Anticipated completion date is mid-September. The intersection will be reconstructed, and March Lane will be realigned to improve traffic flow. The City will also improve traffic signals and build new curb,gutter, sidewalk, and wheelchair ramps. Please join us at a public meeting on Thursday,April 10, at the Satellite City Hall, Community Meeting Room, in the Sherwood Mall(near Montgomery Ward). You are welcome to come any time between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to view the engineering design and talk with the construction engineers and city staff. About 4:30 PM and again at 5:30 PM,brief presentations will be made to review the construction plans and what you can expect to see in the intersection during the next few months.
