Addendum to Work Plan For Soil Boring And Well Installation
February 17, 1999
• Installation of Oxygen Releasing Compound proposed in the original GSI Work Plan will not be
implemented until a later date, after the proposed wells have been installed and sampled, and the
data analyzed.
In addition to these proposed amendments to GSI's 1997 Work Plan,Tosco requested that well PTW-1 be
included in the monitoring and sampling program for the subject site. Monitoring and sampling for the first
quarter 1999 was performed on January 25 and 26, 1999,and included well PTW-1. Data will be included
in GR's upcoming Quarterly Monitoring Report. Well PTW-1 will be monitored on a semiannual basis.
The vapor extraction system (VES) installed at this site is not currently operating on a full-time basis.
Influent vapor concentrations are too low for full-time operation. GR is currently "pulsing" the VES,
operating it for a period of only several days once or twice a month. While pulsing the VES during the first
quarter 1999, GR will collect field measurement to evaluate the VES radius of influence. This evaluation
will be included in the First Quarter 1999 VES Report.
This proposed scope of work can be implemented 2 to 4 weeks after receipt of written approval from
SJCPHS-EHD, depending on driller availability.
