June 1, 198E AGS Job No. 038032-2
x UNOCAL Service Station No. 6981, Stockton, California
The site is underlain by very gently dipping Quaternary fluvial
sediments consisting of sand, silt, and clay. The topographic
surface in the area is slightly irregular with a general westward
slope. The nearest surface stream is the Calaveras River,
located approximately 0.6 miles south of the site.
Based on previous work in the area by Applied GeoSystems, the
depth to first ground water at the site is estimated to be
approximately 30 feet below grade. Ground water is inferred to
have a so`jtheasterly gradient based on regional data supplied by
California Water Service. The water level and gradient are
J subject to seasonal variations with the rise and fall of the
Calaveras River and local pumping rates.
PROPOSED WORK
The following proposed investigation is designed to evaluate the
degree and lateral extent of hydrocarbon contamination on site.
The following work elements are proposed:
o Perform a soil vapor survey of the site and surrounding
area.
V
5
.
