The location- of the site is shown on the <br /> Site Vicinity Map, Plate P-1. The locations of existing <br /> underground storage tanks and other selected site features are <br /> shown on the Generalized Site Plan, Plate P-2. Land use in the <br /> area consists primarily of commercial buildings. Three 12,000- <br /> gallon underground storage tanks were present before June 14, <br /> 1988, but upon investigation by Applied GeoSystems (AGS Report <br /> No. 38032--1 dated July S, 1988) , subsurface contamination was <br /> found, the tanks were removed, and extensive excavation was <br /> performed to remove contaminated soil. The three tanks were <br /> replaced with two new tanks. <br /> is <br /> �` <br /> SOIL VAPOR SURVEY <br /> Background and Purpose <br /> A geologist from Applied GeoSystems was present at the subject <br /> site on December 4, 1988, to conduct a soil vapor survey to <br /> evaluate possible subsurface hydrocarbon contamination. Field <br /> work in:-:luded use of Applied GeoSystems' Mobile Soil Vapor <br /> Laboratory to collect and analyze soil vapor at 13 sampling <br /> locations.
