California) excavate additional soil
K7
from trenches around the pump island (Applied GeoSystems Report No. 38032-1, dated
July 8, 1988). Contaminated soil was excavated from each area and monitored with a
f
photoionization detector (PID). When the reading on the PID was zero the excavation at
that particular area was terminated, and soil samples for laboratory analyses were then
collected.
The soil sample locations, locations 2,2A,3,4,8,and 9, are shown on the Generalized Site
Plan (Elate P-2), and are referenced in Table 2 under the heading Location Number. The
results of laboratory analyses of the samples collected on May 19, and 20, 1988 by Applied
GeoSystems are shown on Table 2.
Results of the laboratory analyses of these soil samples showed levels of TPH of 1,726 ppm
at 18 feet in the sample. from sample location 9, and 1,407 ppm at 19 feet below grade in
the sample collected at sample location 2. The results indicated that levels of TPH and.
Fi'I'EX were below the detection limits for the tests used in the soil sample collected at 11
location 3, in the soil sample collected at 7 feet be
feet below surface grade at samplelow
grade from sample location 4, and in the soil sample collected at S feet below grade from
sample location 8 and in the sample collected 19 feet below grade from sample location 2A
(TabI 2).
.gyp 118d iGe0SXSteMS
