August 18, 1993 �ACAWM� <br /> Unocal Service Station No 6981, Stockton, California Working To Restore Nature <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Site Description <br /> i <br /> Unocal Service Station No 6981 is on the northwest corner of March Lane and Pacific <br /> Avenue In Stockton, California, as shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate 1) The area is <br /> relatively flat and is at an elevation of approximately 13 feet above mean sea level (U S <br /> Geological Survey, 1980) Properties adjacent to the site are primarily commercial buildings <br /> and parking lots <br /> Currently, two 12,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks are east of the station <br /> building and south of the dispenser islands. Previous tanks were removed In 1988 (Applied <br /> GeoSysterns, 1988) Information provided by Unocal indicates that the current tanks are <br /> double-walled and are used to store regular unleaded gasoline and super unleaded gasoline <br /> The approximate locations of the tanks and other selected site features are shown on the <br /> Proposed Well Location Map (Plate 2) <br /> Proximity of Wells and Utilities <br /> According to records obtained from the California Water Service and the Stockton <br /> Municipal Utilities District, there is one municipal water-supply well within 2,000 feet of the <br /> site This well is at the corner of Bidwell Place and Blanche Road, approximately 1,800 feet <br /> southeast of the site, and cross-gradient to the general direction of groundwater flow at the <br /> site The well is maintained by the California Water Service <br /> I <br /> A City of Stockton Department of Public Works sanitary sewer line is beneath March Lane, <br /> south of the site The sanitary sewer line branches into two lines at the northwest corner <br /> of March Lane and Pacific Avenue These two branches lie beneath the sidewalks that form <br /> r 38032-14W 2 <br />
