<"A <br /> Working to Restore Nature <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive, Suite 200 <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916) 852-6690 <br /> Fax (916) 852-6688 <br /> January 18, 1994 <br /> Mr David Camille <br /> Unocal Corporation <br /> P.O Box 5155 <br /> San Ramon, California 94583 <br /> Subject Well Installation <br /> Unocal Service Station 6981 <br /> 4707 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Camille <br /> i <br /> At the request of Unocal Corporation(Unocal), RESNA Industries (RESNA) has conducted <br /> an investigation associated with the drilling of two soil borings and the installation of two <br /> vapor extraction wells at the subject site Drilling was conducted in December 1993 The <br /> purpose of the wells is to extract residual gasoline hydrocarbons from vadose sediment <br /> underlying the site <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Site Description <br /> Unocal Service Station 6981 is on the northwest corner of March Lane and Pacific Avenue <br /> in Stockton, California, as shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate 1) The area is relatively <br /> flat and is at an elevation of approximately 13 feet above mean sea level (U S Geological <br /> Survey, 1980) Properties adjacent to the site are primarily commercial buildings and <br /> parking lots <br /> Currently, two 12,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks are east of the station <br /> building and south of the dispenser islands Previous tanks were removed from this location <br /> in 1988 (Applied GeoSystems, 1988) Information provided by Unocal indicates that the <br /> current tanks are double-walled and are used to store regular unleaded gasoline and super <br /> unleaded gasoline The approximate locations of the tanks and other selected site features <br /> are shown on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate 2) <br /> 1214dcam/38032-14 <br />
