This
paragraph summarizes information which was presented in our June 1994 report and
regards the statement that toluene was not detected in the April 1994 soil sample at a
concentration greater than its method detection limit of 0..005 mg/Kg. This statement is 1
incorrect as toluene was detected at a concentration of 0.007 mg/Kg, as correctly
reported on page.4 of our June 1994 report. Therefore, the third bullet of page 4 of
the 8 September 1994 report entitled "Closure Report, City of Tracy, Fire station No.
2," should read as follows:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel, benzene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes
were not detected in the soil sample collected from beneath the former location of
the UST at concentrations greater than their method detection limits of 1 mg/Kg,
0,005 .mg/Kg, 0.005 mg/Kg, and 0.015 mg/Kg, respectively. Toluene was detected
at a concentration of 0.007 mg/Kg, which is slightly greater than its method
detection limit of 0.005 mg/Kg.
As stated in our 1 June 1994 report entitled "Groundwater Sampling and UST Soil
Investigation Results - April 1994" petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel and benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes have not been detected in shallow groundwater
or shallow soil, except for one soil sample.
