�� 14 <br /> IL• <br /> fr f NICKiiiiiiiiiiiiii,,= <br /> If R � � 8SacrAuburn Blvd Suite A <br /> Sacramento, CA 95821 <br /> ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Telephone (916) 485-7222 <br /> FAX (916)485-8098 <br /> 1 June 1994 <br /> Mr Bill Vizza <br /> Public Works Director <br /> City of Tracy <br /> 520 Tracy Boulevard <br /> Tracy, California 95376 <br /> Subject Groundwater Sampling and UST Soil Investigation Results - April 1994 <br /> 301 W Grantlme <br /> Tracy, California <br /> HLI 10101 <br /> Dear Mr Vizza <br /> This report presents results of the second groundwater sampling and additional soil sampling <br /> activities conducted at the former site of a 1,000-gallon capacity underground diesel storage tank <br /> (UST) at Fire Station Number 2 located at 301 W Grantline Road in Tracy, California This <br /> additional investigation was conducted in accordance with requests by San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> During October 1993, three shallow groundwater monitoring wells were constructed in the vicinity <br /> of the former Iocation of a 1,000-gallon capacity underground diesel storage tank During drilling, <br /> soil samples were collected at five-foot depth intervals and the soil sample collected from a depth <br /> of 5 feet below ground surface from each boring was submitted for laboratory analysis of total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from each monitoring well twelve days following well <br /> development Each sample was submitted for laboratory analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> as diesel using EPA Method 8015 modified and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes <br /> using EPA Method 8020 <br /> Laboratory results for the October 1993 soil and groundwater samples revealed that diesel, <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes were not identified in either soil or groundwater <br /> samples at concentrations greater than their method detection limits As such, it was concluded <br /> there was no evidence of significant leakage from the former underground diesel storage tank <br /> In order to verify the absence of diesel constituents in groundwater, it was proposed that an <br /> additional set of groundwater samples be submitted for laboratory analysis San Joaquin County <br /> also, during the 7 March 1994 meeting with the City of Tracy, confirmed their requested that a <br /> soil sample be collected beneath the groundwater surface from a location within the limits of <br /> former underground diesel storage tank excavation <br /> I <br />
