Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: PIEZOMETER DESTRUCTION
DOANE PRODUCTS COMPANY
450 E. GRANTLINE ROAD,TRACY,CALIFORNIA
SITE#2441
Dear Ms. Meays: -- r
Please find enclosed the permit to destroy piezomete at the Doane Products
Company facility in Tracy, California.
During remedial excavation to remove soil contamination on December 10, 1991,
petroleum hydrocarbons were found to exist beyond the location of piezometer P-1
on the east side of the excavation. An in-field decision was made to destroy the
piezometer in order to remove the soil containing petroleum hydrocarbons to meet
remediation levels. The piezometer was subsequently destroyed by excavating to a
depth of 12-13 feet. The entire 16 feet of casing and screen were removed from the
excavation. Drain rock was placed in the excavation from a depth of 13 feet up to
four feet. The backfilling of the excavation was completed with Class II Aggregate
Base from a depth of four feet to the surface compacted to 90 percent maximum dry
density.
This permit has been signed under authorization of Jim Kleinfelder of Spectrum
Exploration (C-57 License # 512268) who placed the piezometer February 28, 1991 as
part of the preliminary site assessment. A copy of the letter_of authorization is
included with this letter.
lQy, C
Nod-: li - Wore
lebe(!,j p-z P-2 waS lakl V
I was
ac Io •2L( i erv-o
