GRANTLINE ROAD,TRACY,CALIFORNIA
SITE##2441
Dear Ms. Meays:
As requested in the July 23, 1991 letter from Laurie A. Cotulla of the San Joaquin
Public Health Services (SJCPHS), Brunsing Associates, Inc. (BAD) has initiated
verification of the status of the septic tanks at the Doane Products Company (DPC)
facility in Tracy. In conjunction the efforts of Bob Fagundes of DPC the presence of
tanks on the site has been verified. Presently, the exact location of the tanks is not
known because a cement pad has been placed over the entries to the tanks. BAI and
DPC will verify the exact location of the tanks and abandon the system. The septic
system will be abandoned under SJCPHS permit in conjunction with the remedial
excavation of hydrocarbon-containing soils on site. Remedial excavation will
proceed after the submittal and approval of a remediation workplan. BAI
anticipates that the workplan will be submitted before September 15, 1991.
BAI will implement the quarterly groundwater monitoring of ivIW_"l, P-1 and P-2
for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as diesel and BTEX as requested in the July
23, 1991 letter and confirmed in an August 1, 1991 telephone conversation between
Mary Meays and Joel Bruxvoort of BAL Groundwater sampling will be initiated
after the remedial excavation has been completed. BAI will notify the SJCPHS a
minimum of 48 hours in advance of any on-site activities including well
development, sampling and septic tank abandonment.
