7.0 RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> 7.1 Soil Removal <br /> Due to the presence of the hydrocarbons within the backfill material, BAI <br /> recommends the removal of backfilled material from the former excavation <br /> Backfill should be removed to a depth equivalent to the undisturbed subgrade, <br /> approximately 12 feet Further excavation should be guided by an on-site mobile <br /> laboratory <br /> 7.2 Groundwater Monitoring <br /> BAI recommends that DPC uutiate a quarterly groundwater program using MW-1 <br /> Groundwater should be sampled quarterly for one year at wtuch time a review of <br /> sampling frequency should be initiated Following remedial excavation a <br /> groundwater monitoring well sbouid be installed within the area of the former <br /> diesel USTs to verify groundwater results <br /> 7.3 Stockpiled Soil Removal <br /> Soils excavated as part of the excavation and those soils presently stockpiled on-site <br /> should be sampled to determine the suitability for landfill disposal it is <br /> recommended that soil disposal to a regulated landfill be initiated to reduce the time <br /> until site normalization can be achesved <br /> 11 <br /> BR[TNSING ASSOCIATES, INC <br />
