1
1 Analytical Results - Groundwater
The results of laboratory analyses of groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells
1 MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3, indicate that petroleum constituents and lead were not detected above
1 method detection limits in the samples collected Analytical results are shown in Table 2 A copy
of the laboratory report and chains of custody are presented in Appendix IV
1
SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1
The findings gathered during the investigations at the site can be summarized as follows
1
1 o The groundwater flow direction in January 1996 was towards the northwest with a hydraulic
gradient of 0 002 ft/ft
o TPHg and BTEX were only detected in soil on-site in a fill sample collected from boring SB-3
at 6 feet bgs
1 o TPHmo was detected in a soil sample collected from boring MW-3 at 4 feet bgs, and was not
detected in the deeper soil sample from MW-3
1 o Lead was detected in all soil samples analyzed at concentrations considered to be typical soil
l' Y
1 background concentrations
o Petroleum hydrocarbon constiuents and lead were not detected in groundwater samples
1 collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3
' In conclusion, it appears that groundwater on-site has not been impacted by petroleum
1 hydrocarbons or lead from the former USTs A small area of fill in the former gasoline UST pit
contains TPHg and BTEX concentrations This is probably a result of the excavation of the
gasoline USTs, and does not appear to be affecting groundwater on-site In addition, shallow soil
W-1951 I"SA d1w 6
1
SMTH
