GRANT LINE
h ROAD, TRACY, CA
f
t Dear Ms. COtulla and Mr. Moe:
'. It is my understanding that your agency may be requiring Reynolds &
Brown to install several groundwater monitoring wells at the property
in order to define the extent of benzene contamination in the aquifer.
The request made by Mr. Moe isrbased on the results of a report by
Applied Geosystems indicating the presence of benzene in standing
groundwater upon removal of an underground tank at the subject
property. Following your suggestion, we followed the advice of our
consultants, Atka Terra Technologies, Inc. They suggested resampling
the existinq monitoring well because the groundwater sample collected
by Applied Geosystems was not taken according to protocol established
by the Department of Health Services or the Regional Water Quality
Control Board for collecting of groundwater. The results of resampling
the existing monitorinc well indicated that benzene was not detectable.
> am of the opinion thatappropriate
measures i
i f contami nat i or ;-°x i 5~s, which thefol owingf findings re stateen tothderw se: l
h
3 .
