The results of this assessment are presented <br /> in this report. <br /> The tanks are not presently in use. It is our understanding <br /> that Reynolds and Brown is considering removing the tanks and - <br /> associated piping and fuel pumps. The objective of this assess- <br /> ment was to determine whether significant quantities of product <br /> stored in the underground tanks have leaked and are present in <br /> soil and groundwater at the site in concentrations that - warrant <br /> remediation during tank removal_ To perform the assessment, a <br /> ground penetrating radar survey was conducted to locate the <br /> tank , four boreholes were drilled to collect soil samples, and <br /> one borehole was completed as a monitoring well to collect <br /> groundwater samples. Soil and groundwater samples collected <br /> during field activities were analyzed on a priority basis. The <br /> procedures followed during our assessment are described in <br /> detail in the remainder of this report. <br /> Conclusions are presented in the final section of this report. <br /> Based on the information obtained, it is our opinion that no <br /> significant remediation activities are warranted. <br /> GROUND PENETRATING RADAR SURVEY <br /> A ground penetrating radar survey of the site was conducted to <br /> attempt to confirm the approximate location of the two under- <br /> ground storage tanks . Ground penetrating radar surveying uses <br /> the reflection of high-frequency radio waves to located inter- <br /> faces that represent changes in electrical conductivity ( such as <br />
