Because
lished y i
toluene was not found in groundwater, it does not appear
that significant transport of toluene to groundwater has
occurred,
5) Based on the information obtained by this investigation, it
is our opinion that no remediation of undisturbed soil or
groundwater is warranted during removal of the tanks. We
recommend that material surrounding the tanks be monitored
for petroleum product content during tank removal by visual
observation or by a portable organic vapor monitor. All
soil found to contain product by this monitoring should be
removed, stockpiled in segregated areas, and covered pending
appropriate disposal.
Monitor well MWl should be abandoned when the underground
storage tanks are removed. Well abandonment should satisfy
the requirements of the San Joacuin Local Health District.
These call for either removal of the well casing and grout
emplacement at the bottom of the borehole , or it this is not
possible, mechanical perforation of the well casing and
pressure injection of grout.
Please contact me if you have any Questions or comments regard-
ing this report.
very truly yours,
KENNEDY/JENKS/CHYLTON
Iva
Noel M.
