L
ASSLCY %Tt:
O C I ATE 5 I N C .
Groundwater samples were placed on ice and delivered under chain-of-custody documentation to
Argon for chemical analysis. Selected groundwater samples were analyzed by Argon for TPHg
by EPA method 8015, BTEX by EPA method 8020, MTBE, 1,2-DCA, EDB, TAME, TBA,
ETBE, DIPE by EPA method 8260, and total dissolved lead.
3.0 SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS
Soil from the boring SBI consisted of peat from the surface to depths between 6 and 9 feet bgs
and consisted of sandy clay from depths between 6 and 9 feet bgs and 11 feet bgs, the maximum
depth explored in boring SB L Soil from boring SB2 consisted of sandy clay from the surface to
depths between 6 and 9 feet bgs. Soil in boring SB2 consisted of poorly graded sand from depths
Lbetween 6 and 9 feet bgs to l land I4 feet bgs. Soil in boring SB2 consisted of inorganic silt
from depths between 1 I and 14 feet bgs and 16 feet bgs, the maximum depth explored in boring
SB2. Soil from boring SB3 consisted of inorganic clay from the surface to 16 feet bgs, the
L maximum depth explored in boring SB3. Soil boring logs with a detailed description of soil
types are contained in Appendix A.
L4.0 RESULTS
L4.11 Soil Analytical Results
The soil samples collected from borings SB1, SB2, and SB3 contained no detectable
t concentrations of TPHg, BTEX, MTBE, 1,2-DCA, EDB, TAME, TBA, ETBE, or DIPS. Soil
samples collected from borings SB2 and SB3 contained low concentrations of lead that are
consistent with background concentrations of lead found naturally in the soil in the San Joaquin
Valley. Analytical results of soil samples are summarized in Table 1. Laboratory data sheets.
and chain-of-custody documentation are presented in Appendix B.
L4_2 Groundwater Analytical Results
The groundwater samples collected from borings SBI, SB2, and SB3 contained no detectable
concentrations of TPHg, BTEX, MTBE, 1,2-DCA, EDB, TAME, TBA, ETBE, DIPE, or total
dissolved lead. Analytical results of groundwater samples are summarized in Table 2.
Laboratory data sheets and chain-of-custody documentation are contained in Appendix B.
5.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
LBased on the analytical results and field observations, the soil and groundwater in the vicinity of
the former USTs does not appear to be impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. ATC recommends
no further action with regards to the former USTs and that the site be granted closure.
if
L
wA92054100201sum.doc 3
4
