ti ATC SITE SAFETY PLAN
FACILITY BACKGROUND
One 2,000-gallon and two 3,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed
from the site on April 20, 1990. Soil samples and a grab groundwater sample collected
from beneath the USTs contained detectable concentrations of total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes (BTEX).
WORK PLAN
Task One:
Supervise the installation of three soil borings to first encountered groundwater,
approximately 15 feet bgs. At least one soil sample will be collected from each boring
from areas that exhibit physical indications of contamination and one groundwater
sample will be also be collected from each boring. Soil and groundwater samples will be
analyzed for TPHg by EPA method 8015; BTEX by EPA method 8020; methyl tertiary
' butyl ether (MTBE), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), tertiary'
amyl ether (TAME), di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), and
tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) by EPA Method 8260; and total dissolved lead by EPA
Method 200.7.
F
PAGE 4
