—
CIayton
Eh'VI$O\IThNiSM1IENihL
CQNSU
a R
Clayton Environmental Consultants, Inc. was retained by Orchard Supply Hardware
(OSH) to install one monitoring well to sample and analyze soil and groundwater at
} -1 the northeast corner of MacArthur Drive and Grant Line Road in Tracy, California
1 (Figure 1). Mr. Michael D. La Tourette authorized this project on November 29,
1990, by accepting Clayton's Proposal No. 90-B-281 and its accompanying terms and
conditions.
The following tasks were performed at the property site:
1
( ) Installed groundwater monitoring well, MW-3B, sampled and analyzed soil and
p groundwater
(2) Proper abandonment of monitoring well MW-3
(.3) Proper abandonment of a domestic water well
J (4) Quarterly sampling all monitoring wells on
Based on the results of the work outlined above, we make the
and recommendations: following conclusions
• Concentrations of hydrocarbons in the water samples collected from MW-1, MW-2
and MW-3B were below detection levels.
• The newly`installed monitoring well MW-3B deteotal rec
cted 770 m
hydrocarbons in soils at 4 feet:bgs, and 20 mg/kg at 9 feet. ted shallow soloverable
boring program to define the horizontal and vertical extent of contamination may
be required by the SJ CPHS along the abandoned leach line. .
Although the sail sample from MW-3B @ 4 feet exceeds the LUFI'manual
r guidelines for petroleum hydrocarbon contamination:of shallow soils; concentrations
of hydrocarbons in the water samples collected from MW-3B are below detection
r' levels. Clayton recommends that semiarLaual groundwater monitoring of monitoring
` .`. well MW-3B be conducted at the site for one-year to monitor any changes.
R
{ 1
r
r
Y r A
