Clayton
,R0%%Ij%II,-
CONRif-t%[,
y, The concentration of TPH as oil and grease ranged from 50 parts per million
(ppm) to 300 ppm.
Based on the results of analysis of samples of aerated soil, Clayton recommended
backfilling the excavation on September 28, 1990. Soil backfilling was completed in
the week ending October 21, 1990. Because of residual oil and grease in the aerated
soil, a 2-foot layer of compacted clay was placed in the bottom of the excavation,
before it was filled with aerated soils. This clay layer was installed to provide a barrier
between groundwater and shallow soils which have a low level of hydrocarbon
contamination.
Clayton recommends no further soil or groundwater remediation at this site.
