This project
was authorized by Mr. Don Lewis, Interland vice -)resident, by accepting Clayton's
Proposal No. 90-8-117, dated May 20, 1990, and a supolemer_t Pro;esal
No, 29531.00, dated August 20, 1990, with their accompanying tc'•ms and
conditions.
The purpose of this project was to remediate the soil through excavation and
aeration, and to confirm the satisfactory results with sampling and analysis. The
site was restored by returning the aerated soils to the excavation pit and
compacting them. Field work was completed in the week ending October 21,
1990,
2.0 KIEJXYBUMAUQLX
Work at the subject site began in January 1990 when Orchard Supply Hardware
(OSH) contracted Clayton to conduct a Phase I environmental assessment at this
site. This assessment was performed to conduct a due diligence environmental
investigation of the site prior to its transfer to OSH. The assessment revealed
that an underground storage tank (UST) which contained gasoline was operated
onsite and was removed in 1956. Clayton subsequently installed three monitoring
wells. Soil and groundwater samples were collected from these wells, The
analytical results of soil samples taken from the monitoring well bore holes are
summarized in Tqble 1 below.
WM Table 1
M0 torin We I Soil Sample Analytical Results
200
r* MW MK'!• MW 2 M' MytF 3 a mitt 44'
M Ctf[uent {
D tacbtoR
8020 Benzene . .
