Groundwater Technology proposes installation of a
E
groundwater extraction well in the former tank pit area to increase groundwater extraction rates in order
to lower the groundwater table and test the feasibility of soil vapor extraction to remediate the site. The
work scope includes the drilling, sampling, and installation of a groundwater recovery well, collection
of a groundwater sample from the well, installation of all associated piping necessary to connect the
recovery well with existing groundwater extraction system (GWES) piping, and preparation of a letter
summarizing the methods and results of the work performed. Details of the scope of work are
described below.
I TASK 1: SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN/PERMITTING
A site-specific Health and Safety Plan has been prepared by Groundwater Technology as required by
the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)Standard `Hazardous Waste Operations
and Emergency Response"
guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120). The document will be reviewed and signed
by all Groundwater Technology personnel and subcontractors performing work at the site.
All necessary permits for drilling and well installation will be obtained from the SJCEHD.
D2i--07.YVKP(StM1F5.1) -
Offices throughout the 11,..S..Canada and Overseas
s:
