F <br /> 455 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California May 12, 1994 <br /> The Southland Corporation Page 2 <br /> MONITORING WELL DESTRUCTION <br /> The three 4-inch-diameter monitoring wells MW-12, MW-13 and MW-14 are approximately 20 feet <br /> deep. Prior to destruction, the wells will be gauged and checked for obstructions. The wells will be <br /> pressure grouted from the bottom to within five feet of the surface with a cement/bentonite/sand <br /> slurry. The top five feet of casing will then be drilled out using a truck-mounted drill rig equipped <br /> with 8.5-inch-diameter hollow stem augers. The holes will then be filled with clean imported material <br /> and finished per existing surface conditions. <br /> A letter report summarizing well destruction activities will be prepared and submitted to { <br /> The Southland Corporation and SJCPHS-EHD. <br /> SCHEDULE <br /> The monitoring well destruction is expected to be completed by Groundwater Technology within two <br /> weeks from the date of authorization by The Southland Corporation and receipt of regulatory <br /> approval.
