Lateral Distrihution of Hydrocarbons
is
soil Gas
} The results of the soil-gas survey indicated that gaso-
line hydrocarbons were confined to an area on the 7-Eleven prop-
3 erty, primarily south of and possibly beneath the convenience
store. Samples from the area immediately north of the store and
r-
from all off-site locations showed no significant concentrations
Of gasoline hydrocarbons.
i
The area defined by the soil-gas survey; however, could .
give only a qualitative indication of the lateraldistribution of
gasoline hydrocarbons on the site. The information from the sur
rr
yey was used to evaluate the lateral hydrocarbon distribution. .
;. 2 Soils
& Table 2 summarizes results of chemical analyses on soil
1 samples performed to date. Laboratory reports are in Appendix E.
These data :indicate. that hydrocarbon contamination of the soil is i
~'
generally confined to the area immediately south and east of the
r F store: This conclusion is zn .close agreement .with_the_results of, .
the sail-gas survey.
Concentrations of TPH in excess of 100 parts per mil-- E"
(ppm)lion m were detected within the upper 5..5: €eet at MW 5, P-A,
 3f
g `
• P-B, P-4, and P-5. The highest concentrations Of TPH were found
in samples collected from MW-1 at 5.5 ft1 100
( , PPM) , P-A at 5.0 i
ft (1,300 ppm) , and P-4 at 4.7 ft (1 400 '
PPM) .
