All of the remaining
wells had nondetectable concentrations of petroleum
hydrocarbons. The "zero line" of the TPH results is shown on
' Plate 1. Detectable levels of fecal coliform as high as
1,600 MPN/100 ml were found in groundwater samples from MW-9
through MW-11.
' In a letter dated June 21, 1991 from the San Joaquin County
Department of Public Health Services (San Joaquin) to the
Southland Corporation, San Joaquin indicated that they were
' concerned with the presence and/or condition of well seals
around MW-12 , MW-13 , and MW-14 . On September 12, 1991, HLA
inspected these wells with Ms. Mary Meays of San Joaquin and
' concluded that the surface seals in question were only cement
used to hold the protective stove pipes in place. Upon
inspection of the surface seals around the monitoring wells
themselves, they were found to be intact and in good
' condition.
In a letter dated September 23 , 1991 from San Joaquin to the
Southland Corporation, San Joaquin requested a draft Final
Remediation Plan (FRP) and an executive summary of the FRP.
This information will be presented in the fourth quarter
' technical report.
If you require additional information, please call.
Yours very truly,
HARDING LAWSON ASSOCIATES
Steven B.
