Revised July 25, 1991
17060, 025. 03
Mr. Hal Miller
The Southland Corporation
Page 3
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The pH of purged groundwater monitored in the field was
consistently between 6. 87 an 8 . 05. Conductivity measurements
ranged from 3, 350 to 37, 000 uS/cm. Results of groundwater
analyses indicate increasing concentrations of benzene in
excess of 100 parts per billion (ppb) in MW-1, MW-8 , MW-9,
and MW-10. These same wells had total petroleum hydrocarbon
concentrations in excess of 690 ppb. All of the remaining
wells had nondetectable concentrations of petroleum
hydrocarbons. The "zero line" of the TPH results is shown on
Plate 1.
A duplicate groundwater sample from MW-1 was analyzed during
this quarter. This sample is identified as MW-16 in the
attached laboratory report. A comparison of the duplicate
and quarterly samples show a strong correlation. The results
from the laboratory-provided trip blank (MW-17) indicated
nondetectable concentrations for all compounds tested.
• If you require additional information, please call.
Yours very truly,
HARDING LAWSON ASSOCIATES
Daniel B.
