FLUOR DANIEL G1'1� <br /> 144 <br /> .June 9, 1997 <br /> Mr Bob DeNinno <br /> The Southland Corporation <br /> 19033 West Valley H <br /> wy, D-104 _ <br /> Kent,WA 98032 <br /> Subject First Quarter 1997 Monitoring and Sampling Report <br /> Southland Site No 20304 <br /> 455 Grant Line Road <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI Project 02070 0456 <br /> Dear Mr DeNmno <br /> This First Quarter 1997 Monitoring and Sampling Report presents the results of monitoring and sampling <br /> activities performed by Fluor Daniel GTI, Inc (Fluor Daniel GTI) at the subject site (Figures 1 and 2, <br /> Attachment 1) on March 25, 1997 Activities conducted during this reporting period are summarized below <br /> ■ Depth to water(DTVI!)was gauged in 11 groundwater monitoring wells and three <br /> groundwater extraction wells (Figure 2) <br /> ■ Groundwater samples were collected from five wells MW-4, MW-5, MW-8, MW-9, and <br /> MW-10, and submitted to a certified laboratory for analysis for benzene,toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX), methyl tert-butyl-ether(MTBE), and total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons-as-gasoline(TPH-G) <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Data <br /> Groundwater monitoring was performed on March 25, 1997 Prior to monitoring,the well caps were <br /> opened to allow the water level in each well to stabilize to atmospheric pressure The DTW was measured <br /> to the nearest 0 01 foot from the top of the well casing using an ORS Environmental Equipment <br /> INTERFACE PROBE Well Monitoring System <br /> Separate-phase hydrocarbons were not detected in any of the monitoring wells The water table elevations, <br /> calculated from the March 25, 1997 monitoring data,were used to prepare a potentiometnc surface map <br /> (Figure 2) The groundwater flow is generally toward the east/northeast ata hydraulic gradient ranging <br /> from 0 009 ft/ft to 0 003 ft/ft Locally, the groundwater gradient is toward the active groundwater extraction <br /> well when the system is operating The system was not operating during this monitoring and sampling <br /> event Groundwater monitoring results from the March 25, 1997 monitoring and sampling event are <br /> presented in Table 1,and historical results are summarized in Table 1A(Attachment 2) Field data sheets <br /> are included in Attachment 3 n <br /> •� 0456QI97 RPT(STRL 5 1) _ <br /> 757 Arnold Drive, Suite D / Martinez, CA 94553 USA (510) 370-3990 FAX (510) 370-3991 <br />
