• Groundwater Extraction Well Installation Summary Report Page 1 <br /> The Southland Corporation 455 Grant Line Road Tracy Califomia December 6 1996 <br /> 1 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report is submitted by Fluor Daniel GTI, Inc to summarize the results of soil sampling and <br /> groundwater extraction well installation at Southland Store No 20304 located at 455 Grant Line Road <br /> in Tracy, California (Figures 1 and 2) The scope of work included <br /> 1) Drilling, sampling,and installation of two groundwater extraction wells <br /> 2) Trenching, sampling and installation of extraction Imes and well vaults <br /> 3) Laboratory analysis of selected soil samples <br /> 4) Preparation of this report <br /> The scope of work was designed to fulfill the requirements of the San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department (SJCEHD) The work described in this report was completed at the site on <br /> October 23 through November 14, 1996, in accordance with the scope of work outlined in Fluor Daniel <br /> GTI's Addendum to Work Plan for Groundwater Extraction Well Installation, dated July 5, 1996 <br /> 20 PERMITTINGISITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> i <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI conducted a technical review of all relevant information prior to proceeding with site <br /> assessment work Permits for the groundwater extraction well installation were obtained from the <br /> SJCEHD Copies of the permits are included in Appendix A <br /> Fallowing a complete review of site conditions, Fluor Daniel GTI reviewed the existing site-specific <br /> Health and Safety Plan as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) <br /> Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 120) <br /> The document was reviewed and signed by all Fluor Daniel GTI personnel and subcontractors prior to <br /> commencement of work at the site <br /> 30 SOIL BORINGS AND SAMPLING <br /> On October 23, 1996, Fluor Daniel GTI supervised drilling and sampling of two sod borings to 21 feet <br /> below ground surface (BGS) utilizing a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch outside-diameter <br /> (O D ) hollow-stem augers The bonngs were reamed with 12-inch O D augers to allow for installation <br /> of the groundwater extraction wells All drilling equipment was steam cleaned prior to drilling each <br /> bonng, and sampling equipment was washed in an Alconox (detergent) solution and rinsed with water <br /> between sampling intervals All soil generated during drilling was stockpiled on site pending disposal <br /> All steam-clean water generated during the drilling activities was stored in labeled Department of <br /> 0231;NST RPTISIN 5 1) <br /> FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br />
