r <br /> FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br /> 96 NOV _ I Ptl2 3'r <br /> y <br /> October 24, 1996 <br /> Mr Bob DeNinno <br /> The Southland Corporation <br /> 19033 West Valley Hwy , D-104 <br /> Kent, WA 98032 <br /> Subject Third Quarter 1996 Monitoring and Sampling Report <br /> Southland Site No 20304 <br /> 455 Grant Line Road <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI Project 02070 0231 <br /> Dear Mr DeNinno <br /> This Third Quarter 1996 Monitoring and Sampling Report presents the results of monitoring and sampling <br /> activities performed by Fluor Daniel GTI, Inc (Fluor Daniel GTI) at the subject site (Figures 1 and 2, <br /> Attachment 1) on September 17, 1996 Activities conducted during this reporting period are summarized <br /> below <br /> • = Depth to water(DTW) was gauged in 11 groundwater monitoring wells and one <br /> groundwater extraction well (Figure 2) <br /> ■ Groundwater samples were collected from six wells MW4, MW-5, MW-8, MW-9, MW-10 <br /> and GWE-1, and submitted to a certified laboratory for analysis for benzene,toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX), methyl-tert-butyl-ether(MTBE), and total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPH-G) <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Data <br /> Groundwater monitoring was performed on September 17, 1996 Prior to monitoring,the well caps were <br /> opened to allow the water level in each well to stabilize to atmospheric pressure The DTW was measured <br /> to the nearest 0 01 foot from the top of the well casing using an ORS Environmental Equipment <br /> INTERFACE PROBE Well Monitoring System <br /> Separate-phase hydrocarbons were not detected in any of the monitoring wells The water table elevations, <br /> calculated from the September 17, 1996 monitoring data,were used to prepare a potentiometnc surface <br /> map(Figure 2) The groundwater flow is generally toward the northeast at a hydraulic gradient of <br /> approximately 0 006 ft/ft Locally, the groundwater gradient is toward the active groundwater extraction well <br /> when the system is operating The system was not operating during this monitoring and sampling event <br /> Groundwater monitoring results from the September 17, 1996 monitoring and sampling event are <br /> presented in Table 1, and historical results are summarized in Table 1A (Attachment 2) Field data sheets <br /> are included in Attachment 3 <br /> 02310396 RPT(STHL 5 1) <br /> 1401 Halyard Drive, Suite 140 / West Sacramento, CA 95691 USA (916) 372-4700 FAX (916) 372-8781 <br />
