Working To Restore Nature
f
1710 Main Street Pacific Gas & Electric Company's
Escalon, CA 95320
Phone (209) 838-3507 Tracy Service Center
FAX (209) 838.3509 Fust Half 1994
' Groundwater Sampling
INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of the first half 1994 groundwater sampling conducted in the
vicinity of the former underground fuel storage tank at Pacific Gas and Electric Company's
(PG&E's) Tracy Service Center The service center is located at 502 East Grant Line Road in
' Tracy, California Field work for this portion of the investigation was performed on April 5,
1994. The purpose of the sampling program is to continue the evaluation of the groundwater
' quality near the site of the former underground fuel tank.
IPSUNEWARY
' Static groundwater levels measured in monitoring wells OW-1 through OW-6 ranged from 7.34
to 8 07 feet below the tops of the well casings (Table 1). On April 5, 1994 the direction of the
shallow groundwater flow in the vicinity of the former tank location was north-northeasterly,
with a hydraulic gradient of 0.004 ft/ft (Figure 1).
 I
' Groundwater samples were collected from wells OW-2 and OW-6 and submitted to Sequoia
Analytical (Redwood City, CA) for analysts of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG)
' and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX). The sample collected from well OW-
2 contained benzene (4.5 µg/P) and ethylbenzene (1.9 µg1 f) A blind duplicate sample of well
OW-2 (labeled OW-7) was collected and the analytical results were consistent with the original
sample. Benzene (4.0 jig/f) and ethylbenzene (1.7 µg/f) were reported. All analytes for the
sample collected from well OW-6 were reported as non-detectable (below laboratory method
QRTERLYI I QR-1994 FNL 1
I
