4.0 CONCLUSIONS
3:
The groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-1 contained
17 parts per billion (ppb) methyl-tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE). The
groundwater samples collected froth' monitoring well MW-2 contained
5,700 ppb TPH-G, 340 ppb benzene, 66 ppb toluene, 260 ppb ethyl
benzene, 220 ppb total xylenes, 6,000 ppb MTBE, 23 ppb tert-amyl-
methyl-ether (TAME), and 710 ppb TBA. Groundwater samples collected
from monitoring well MW-4 contained 630 ppb TPH-G, 84 ppb benzene, 32
ppb ethyl benzene, 510 ppb MTBE, .arid 19 ppb TAME. Groundwater
samples collected from monitoring well MW-5 contained 17 ppb MTBE a n d
6.1 ppb TBA. Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-6
contained 0.77 ppb MTBE. No other hydrocarbons were detected above
laboratory reporting limits in any of the groundwater samples collected.
There appears to be a decreasing trend in hydrocarbon and oxygenate
concentrations detected in the groundwater samples collected from
monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-5. ,There appears to be an increasing
trend in TPH-G and MTBE concentrations in MW-2. Concentrations of all
i compounds detected in groundwater ' samples collected from all other
monitoring wells are consistent with previous results. All the compounds
in monitoring well MW-3 were below laboratory detection limits. The only
compound detected in monitoring wells , MW-1 and MW-6 was MTBE.
i
5.0 RECOMMENDATIONS j
ASE recommends the subject site remain on a quarterly sampling schedule.
The next scheduled sampling is scheduled for May 2002. ASE has also
submitted a corrective action plan (CAP) for the site dated January 16,
2002. ASE will prepare a remedial action plan for the site once the cap i s
approved by the regulatory agencies.
i
:I
x
.;i
i.
?3
Singh's Unical Service Station Quarterly Report - February 2002 Sampling
-3- 1
11
