i
f
benzene, 2.3 ppb toluene, 2.5 ppb ethyl benzene, and 4.8 ppb total
xylenes. No oxygenates were detected in this groundwater sample. No
other permeable layers were identified below 37-feet to the total depth
{ explored of 70-feet bgs. Based on this information, ASE does n o t r
anticipate any significant vertical impact below 20-feet bgs, and does n o t
# recommend any further vertical investigation unless drinking water wells
1 are identified in the site vicinity with deeper screens that could b e
impacted.
13 . 0 RECOMMENDATIONS F
f
r
ASE recommends the following:
Monitor the site wells on a quarterly schedule. The next sampling will b e
r in January 2001.
Perform an area well and sensitive receptors survey to locate wells and
water bodies within a 2,000-foot radius of the site.
ASE believes that the extent of hydrocarbons to the west and northeast is
not defined. ASE anticipates that San Joaquin County PHS-EHD will require
further assessment to define the horizontal extent of contamination. It
should be noted that monitoring wells already exist to the west and
northeast for other properties, but it is unlikely that ASE will be granted
access to the wells.
ASE also recommends that further vertical definition of contamination
be
conducted if any nearby wells, screened in deeper zones, are located
which could be impacted from site contamination.
k
14 . 0 REPORT LIMITATIONS
The results of this assessment represent conditions at the time of the soil
and groundwater sampling, at the specific locations where the samples
were collected, and for the specific parameters analyzed by t h e
laboratory.
It does not fully characterize the site for contamination resulting from
unknown sources, or for parameters not analyzed by the laboratory. All
of the laboratory work cited in this report was prepared under the
direction of an independent CALrEPA certified laboratory. The
independent laboratory is solely responsible for the contents and
conclusions of the chemical analysis data.
f
P
574 West Grant Line Road Report — October 2000
- i t-
