Harding Lawson Associates
MAR 3 ;W _ =
ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH
March 3, 1987 FERMIT/SERVICES
180409001.03
San Joaquin Local Health district
601 E. Hazelton
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, California
R
Attention: Ms. Laurie Cotulla
Gentlemen:
Application for Well Permits
7-Eleven Facility
455 West Grant Line Road
Tracy, California
On behalf of 7-Eleven Stores, Harding Lawson Associates {HLA}
requests the required permit to install an additional monitoring
well at 455 West Grant Line Road in Tracy, California. This
7-Eleven facility has three underground gasoline tanks, one of
which has been identified to have a leak and has been emptied.
Relative to this leak, 7-Eleven has issued an Underground Storage
Tank Unauthorized Release Report, dated November 5, 1986. On
November 24, 1986, HLA installed four monitoring wells at the
7-Eleven facility. The additional well will be located immediately
down gradient of the tank that leaked. We will also obtain an
additional soil sample for chemical testing halfway between MW-1
and MW-5 at a depth of 5 feet.
We anticipate that drilling operations will begin on March 6, 1987.
HLA intends to install the monitoring well at the approximate
location shown on the attached Site Plan. The well will be drilled
using an 8-inch-diameter continuous flight hollow-stem auger and
will consist of 2-inch-diameter PVC casing with flush-mounted
joints. The well will be screened from the bottom to approximately
5 feet below the ground surface, but no less than 1 foot above the
ground-water level. The specific construction details for the
well will be based on the results of the drilling and sampling
program. The following well construction standards, in general,
will be used:
Engineers 2430 Stanwell ar. Telephone Alaska Colorado Texas
Geologists& Suite 110 415/687-9660 Arizona Hawaii
Geophysicists Concord,CA 94520 California Nevada
