f <br /> S E C ® R <br /> Y <br /> Soil and Groundwater Assessment Work Plan <br /> 7-Eleven Store#32262 <br /> August 12, 2003 <br /> Page 3 <br /> approximately 3 casing volumes of water using a downhole pump or hand bailer until groundwater <br /> parameters of pH, temperature, and conductivity stabilized as measured by portable meters <br /> calibrated to a standard buffer and conductivity standard A grab water sample will collected from <br /> the tank pit observation point T-1 Groundwater samples will then be collected by lowering a clean <br /> disposable bailer into the well and collecting a representative sample of the formation water if the <br /> well is slow to recover, the sample was not collected until the water level has approached 80 percent <br /> of its initial level The groundwater sample will be slowly transferred to laboratory-cleaned sample <br /> containers, sealed with Teflon®-lined caps, and transferred to cooled storage <br /> Groundwater samples will be submitted to Kiff Analytical, a California-certified laboratory, for analysis <br /> of BTEX, TPHg, MtBE, and, tert-butanol (TBA), dusopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl-tert-butyl ether <br /> (ETRE),tert-amylmethyl ether(TAME) by EPA Method 82608 <br /> WASTE HANDLING AND STORAGE <br /> During drilling operations, all augers, sampling tools, and down hole equipment will be steam <br /> cleaned prior to use All rinsate water, purge water and sod cuttings generated during the drilling <br /> operations will be stored in 55-gallon drums at the site pending laboratory analysis for proper <br /> disposal <br /> WATER SUPPLY WELL SURVEY <br /> SECOR will conduct a Department of Water Resources file review to identify water supply wells <br /> within a 2,000 foot radius of the site In addition, the City of Tracy Public Works Department will be <br /> contact to determine is any municipal water supply wells are located within the search radius The <br /> location of any water supply wells identified within the search radius will be confirmed during a field <br /> search from the public right-of-way A map showing the location of the water supply wells and a <br /> table summarizing the results will be prepared and included in the site assessment report <br /> REPORTING <br /> SECOR will prepare an assessment report summarizing the fieldwork completed and data collected <br /> including <br /> • Details of field procedures and operations <br /> • Boring logs <br /> • Tabulated results of the soil and groundwater sample analyses <br /> • Updated map showing the location of new wells <br /> The five newly installed groundwater monitoring wells and one tank pit observation point will be <br /> monitored and sampled quarterly <br /> • <br />
