CRA will follow the drilling protocol presented in the Work Plan and will
perform site investigation activities in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines. The
revised scope of work is presented below.
REVISED SCOPE OF WORK
The SJCEHD approved the installation of proposed groundwater monitoring wells MW-8 through MW-
10 in their November 6, 2007 letter to Shell. To date, access to the offsite properties has not been
obtained. Shell is negotiating access with the property owner of 2790 North Naglee Road for the
installation of wells MW-9 and MW-10. The owner of the property located east of the Shell site,
identified by APN 21402033, has denied access for the installation of well MW-8. However, the
property owner indicated that the drilling of a soil boring to assess soil and groundwater conditions
beneath the property would be acceptable. Therefore, Shell proposes to drill soil boring SB-2 at the
location shown on Figure 2 to assess soil and groundwater conditions east of the site. Proposed well
MW-8 will be removed from the approved scope of work.
Soil boring SB-2 will be drilled using hollow stem auger or direct push drilling equipment. The boring
will be drilled to first encountered groundwater. A CRA geologist will supervise the drilling and
describe encountered soils using the Unified Soil Classification System. CRA will collect soil samples
Equal
Employment
ort
Oppunity Employer
Worldwide Engineering, Environmental,Construction,and IT Services
