(GTI),to provide the additional information to their previously submitted
closure request that was requested in your letter dated,November 30, 1995.
The submitted addendum contains GTI's estimate of hydrocarbon mass remaining in place and an
updated summary table of all groundwater monitoring results obtained to date. The GTI addendum does
not include a workplan to destroy the existing site-related monitoring wells. Instead,a letter dated January
23, 1996,was submitted by Chevron's consultant, Gettler-Ryan,Inc. which included a completed well
destruction permit application,a site plan/well construction details, and a description of recommended
well abandonment procedures.
It is my understanding that the well destruction permit has been issued by your agency. You will be
notified in advance of the well destruction schedule. A report summarizing field activities during the well
destruction will be submitted upon completion, Your issuance of a site closure certification at that time
would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your assistance with this case. If you have any questions or continents, please call me at
(510)842-8695.
Sincerely,
,&W ZO.
Brett L.Hunter
Environmental Engineer
Site Assessment and Remediation
