Chevron USA Products Company page 4 <br /> Photo-ionization detector (PID) One sample from each 5-foot interval was sealed with aluminum foil, <br /> capped, taped, labeled, placed on ice in an insulated container, and delivered under chain-of-custody <br /> manifest to Superior Precision Analytical, Inc (Superior), in San Francisco, California The field geologist <br /> maintained a complete log of the materials encountered during drilling using the Unified Sod <br /> Classification System (Appendix B) <br /> Six of the eight soil samples collected from the borings were selected for laboratory analysis Each <br /> sample was analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPH-G) by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) methods <br /> 5030/8020/modified 8015 <br /> 3,4 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation <br /> Groundwater monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-3 were installed near the locations of temporary <br /> groundwater monitoring wells TW-1 and TW-2, respectively (Figure 2) The monitoring wells were <br /> constructed of 2-inch-diameter, schedule 40 PVC casing and 0 020-inch-slot well screen Well screen for <br /> both wells was installed from 5 to 20 feet BGS A sand filter pack was placed in the well annulus from <br /> the bottom of the borehole to 1 foot above the top of the well screen The wells were sealed with one <br /> foot of bentonite placed on top of the sand and a neat cement grout to the surface Wellheads are <br /> secured by a locking, expandable well cap and a water-tight, bolted street box set in concrete Well <br /> construction details are presented in the drill logs attached in Appendix B <br /> After installation, the wells were developed by manual bailing Approximately 20 gallons of water was <br /> removed from each well and stored on site in DOT-approved drums The wells were professionally <br /> surveyed for both horizontal position and elevation above mean sea level (Appendix C) The survey data <br /> will be used in conjunction with groundwater monitoring data collected during the next groundwater <br /> sampling event to estimate the magnitude and direction of the shallow groundwater gradient <br /> E100 <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> 0014EAR RPr(Chv-4\GRANTUN) TECHNOLOGY . <br />
