The
location of the project site is shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate 1). "The location of the
proposed soil'boring is shown on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate 2).
During December 1992, four soil borings were drilled at the site. Groundwater was not
encountered in the soil borings. Gasoline hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples
collected from boring B-4, near.the southern region of the northwestern dispenser island.
Benzene concentrations ranged from 0.025 to 0.088 parts per million. TPHg concentrations
were below laboratory detection limits.
The proposed additional soil boring is to delineate residual hydrocarbons detected soil
boring B-4. RESNA will conduct the following tasks:
o Contact Underground Service Alert at least 48 hours before drilling to delineate
public utility lines.
o Observe drilling of one 8inch-diameter soil boring to approximately 50 feet below
surface grade, or until first.detected groundwater. The soil boring will be located
near boring B-4. Drilling will be performed by a licensed well driller.
o Collect relatively undisturbed soil samples at 5400t intervals from the boring,identify
the samples using manual and visual methods, and classify the samples according to
the Unified Soil Classification System.
123013-iw
